I think that's what most entertainment <i>should</i> be in a sense...or at least a higher reason for it, whether people do it intentionally or not. Either you go with the existing culture or you make a stand against it. Plus I think that these mediums reach out to the masses (especially with the online capabilities), much like theatre or books used to (and still do to a somewhat lesser degree).
